Rushly vs AutoCut: which one for Premiere Pro?

Two French-made plugins for Premiere Pro, two approaches: the widest toolset, or a rough cut that understands meaning. The facts, recorded on October 7, 16 and 19, 2026, and the cases where AutoCut is the better pick.

Adobe Premiere Pro plugin · Mac and Windows · 300 free credits, no credit card

The short answer

AutoCut is the broadest plugin: more than ten tools, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, B-roll and chapters included, and a 14-day trial with no credit card. Rushly is narrower: AI Cleanup (a rough cut that reads the meaning of what you say), Smart Clips, Captions, Zooms, Audio and Multicam, in Premiere Pro only. Both place automatic zooms, and AutoCut's AutoZoom offers more triggers and styles. If you want the biggest toolset or you edit in DaVinci, go with AutoCut. If your bottleneck is the rough cut of talking footage, test Rushly on your own footage. It was built and tuned on French speech first and also understands English, Spanish and Portuguese.

AI Cleanup in Rushly (French interface shown): silences, repeats and bad takes spotted in the transcript, then cut in the Premiere Pro timeline.
In short
  • AutoCut: more than ten tools, Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, 14-day trial with no card, available in 8 languages, including French.
  • Rushly: AI Cleanup, Smart Clips, Captions, Zooms, Audio, Multicam, Premiere Pro only. Both have automatic zooms; AutoCut's AutoZoom has more triggers and styles.
  • Retakes: AutoCut has a dedicated tool (AutoCut Repeat), and it does the job.
  • Rushly's difference: AI Cleanup, a meaning-based rough cut (ideas repeated in other words, a coherence check), reviewed segment by segment.

AutoCut at a glance

AutoCut is a plugin for Premiere Pro and DaVinci Resolve, made by a French team. It bundles more than ten tools: animated captions, silence removal, podcast editing and angle switching, automatic zoom, viral clips, B-roll, retakes (AutoCut Repeat), a profanity filter, chapters and resizing. It's available in 8 languages, including French. It's a mature product, and the obvious choice when you want the widest toolset in a single subscription.

Rushly at a glance

Rushly focuses on six tools: AI Cleanup (silences, hesitations, retakes, reviewed before anything is applied), Smart Clips (the strongest moments of a long video, as 9:16 sequences), Captions (placed in your sequence as editable Premiere graphics, with Poster, Accent and Condensed presets, your own font and TikTok, Reels and Shorts safe zones), Zooms (placed by rules on the strong words of your voice, removed in one click), Audio (your voices mixed in one gesture, with an AI voice cleanup) and podcast Multicam, which runs 100% locally and uses no credits. It only runs in Premiere Pro. It was built and tuned on French speech first, and it also understands English, Spanish and Portuguese. Only the audio track goes to the servers: your video stays on your machine.

Retakes: AutoCut Repeat exists, and it does the job

Let's be precise, because this is where the comparison is decided. AutoCut Repeat detects repeated takes and helps you pick the best version. If your need is just “I said the same sentence three times”, AutoCut covers it.

What Rushly adds is a rough cut based on meaning. A language model reads the text to find an idea said several times, including when it's rephrased in different words, and is instructed to keep the most complete take. A second pass flags “to review” the passages whose meaning a cut may have broken. And you go through every cut, segment by segment, before the sequence is built.

As far as we know, AutoCut's site doesn't present this detection of rephrased ideas or this coherence check (checked on October 7, 2026). That's the difference, and that's all: it doesn't mean AutoCut does its job badly, it means the two tools are not after the same thing.

Compare them in an hour, on your own footage

The only test that counts: the same footage, both tools.

  1. 1
    Pick representative footage

Ten to fifteen minutes of talking head or podcast, with hesitations, pauses and at least one sentence said twice.

  2. 2
    Run each tool

AutoCut on its 14-day trial, Rushly on its Free plan. Note how long each one takes to analyze.

  3. 3
    Count the errors

Wrong cuts, missed hesitations, wrong take kept, duplicates left in. Does it catch an idea said again in different words?

  4. 4
    Time the review

How long does it take to fix the result and get to a clean edit? That's the number that decides.

What people ask us.

Rushly or AutoCut: which one should I pick?
AutoCut if you want the widest toolset (B-roll, chapters, a more configurable AutoZoom, profanity filter), if you also edit in DaVinci Resolve, or if you want to try it with no card for 14 days. Rushly if you edit talking footage in Premiere Pro and the rough cut is where you lose the most time. It was built and tuned on French speech first and also understands English, Spanish and Portuguese, so test it on your own footage.
Can AutoCut remove repeated takes?
Yes: AutoCut Repeat detects repeated takes and helps you pick the best version. The difference with Rushly is AI Cleanup, a meaning-based rough cut: ideas repeated in other words, and a coherence check that flags passages “to review”.
How much do AutoCut and Rushly cost?
On October 19, 2026, AutoCut showed its prices in US dollars on autocut.com: Basic at $6.60 a month billed $79 a year (silences only), AI at $14.90 a month billed $178.80 a year (all tools) and Enterprise at $19.90 a month per licence. The month-to-month price isn't shown. Rushly's are on its pricing page. The models differ: AutoCut shows no usage limit, Rushly sells a monthly volume of credits, with a permanent Free plan. Choose on the features you need.
Does Rushly work in DaVinci Resolve?
No, Rushly only runs in Adobe Premiere Pro. AutoCut also covers DaVinci Resolve.
Can I try each one for free?
AutoCut: a 14-day trial, no credit card, every feature. Rushly: a permanent Free plan, no credit card, with 300 free credits (one time) to use on any feature and unlimited Multicam.
Do both handle podcast multicam?
Yes. AutoCut Podcast and Angles work in Premiere and DaVinci. Rushly's Multicam runs locally, uses no credits, and needs one mic per person. Both also place automatic zooms: AutoCut's AutoZoom has more triggers and styles, while Rushly's Zooms tab works on the strong words of your voice.
Does Rushly do zooms and audio processing like AutoCut?
Yes, both, in every plan, Free included. Zooms are placed by rules on the transcript (numbers, superlatives, calls to action, lists, contrasts). Audio mixes your voices in one gesture with native Adobe effects and can clean the voice with AI if you switch it on. Both use credits, shown before you run. AutoCut's AutoZoom has more settings, and AutoCut lists no noise reduction tool.
